Caloosahatchee Cadence

Celebrate April to the tune of internationally known blues bands riverside at The Budweiser and Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association River & Blues Festival.

The 15th Annual River & Blues Festival
The 15th Annual River & Blues Festival
The wide and scenic Caloosahatchee River backdrops a music- and food-lovers’ extravaganza at the 15th Annual River & Blues Festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 15, 2007 at family-friendly Centennial Park in downtown Fort Myers’ Historic River District.

The lively event, which grows in popularity each year, will showcase nationally and internationally known blues bands beginning at noon, including headliner Clarence Carter. Other bands include Brenda B, the Cracker Blues Band, Danny Sheppard and the Blue Mercury, Juice, and the Mambo Brothers. Popular local restaurants dish out appetizing menu items – from pizza, funnel cakes, lemonade and ice cream to Italian specialties, seafood, barbecued ribs and clambakes.

Nick’s Kid Show (no relation to the TV program) takes the stage to keep the young ones entertained. The high-energy musical show gets everyone clapping, stomping, singing and joining the unstoppable “Locomotion" through the park.

River & Blues Festival, sponsored by Budweiser and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, serves as a major fundraiser for the Harry Chapin Food Bank, a local organization dedicated to providing food to needy families. Admission is $7; children ages 10 and younger are admitted free. Sorry no umbrellas, pets or coolers are allowed.

For more information, call 239-229-9825 or visit www.riverandbluesfestival.com.
